Representative pictures of interleukin 37 (IL-37) staining in the gingival tissues were (A) in healthy gingiva with IL-37 was less frequently expressed, whereas (B) intense and more frequent IL-37 immunoreactivity was seen in periodontitis effected tissues and (C) no staining is detected in the negative staining control. IL-37 is localized in epithelial cells, monocyte/macrophage-, fibroblast-like, and vascular endothelial cells. Scale bar = 100 μm
